In 2017, Worldly Buddies adventure books kicked off our family collection. In 2026, "Worldly Buddies" books & games coming!.
The world of "Worldly Buddies" was an inspiration, with true stories hidden, but alive in the world, captured by moments the family Keigh, Jessy & Addy Marie McVay embarked, enjoying different experiences around the globe - Worldschooling & Roadschooling.
Mascots Ough Ough & Roly are the main characters who replicate Keigh & Jessy's interests, personalities and playful behaviour as part of their worldschool experiences, inspiring Worldly Buddies stories.
A number of books were published from 2019 encompassing multiple collections, and they'll be available to Villagers {members} in 2025 as part of the exclusive Learn While Living library. It is our goal that everything the McVay family have done together, will be in the one space by 2026, and can be found via Learn While Living.
2020, Schooling Discoveries began in Lockdown.
It's a No-frills channel, to educate while posting to give back and learn. Our focus is, Alternate learning, Roadschool, Worldschooling & Entertainment, serving up some interesting and quirky videos.
With an eclectic mix of Educational Conversations, FUNDAY Friday Games, Cooking and more - revealed inside, there's lots of visual stories & fun stuff to watch,get inspired and learn from.
Over the course of 2020 and 2021, 80+ videos were created, edited and produced, for Keigh and Jessy to learn on the go, as part of a media, cuisine and games year to learn while lving.
While the videos are "no-frills" the importance was to learn, live, taste, have fun & share. By doing so, we gained a vast amount of skills and everyday were curiously engaged, while having fun!

It was such a pleasure speaking with Shona and Hugh from 2RRR 88.5FM. Thanks so much for sharing our story by the way.
While our journey was amazing, it did come with many hurdles and challenges. Shortly after this interview, our trusty mobile home was stolen in Melbourne, which included birthday and christmas gifts along with things that her kids thought - when departing, were super important to take for the journey. Living in our car between roadschool and worldschooling trips, was a real thing. {It is a crying shame that people who steal don't get the reality of what they force on others into.} On positive note, mindset and daily goals kept us passionate for "what may" instead of feeling sorry for ourselves. To get ahead, Addy wrote night and day to produce Worldly Buddies books, with the hope the books could help set them back up. Unfortunately, not knowing how to navigate the the world of publishing as a new author, and later learning just how little authors actually make, one print was done.

From 2016 to 2020 global lockdown
When the world shut down, Adrienne Marie McVay, {better know as Addy} and her family were fighting to get back to Australia. Not only was that one of the biggest fights of Addy's life - going up against a cruise liner giant, when returning to Australia she knew they had no house to return to and no camper trailer to live in either. Her sense of worry is depicted in this interwiew, for they were the real circumstances of Worldschooling when the world shut down.

Returning to Australia in the early hours of the morning the airport was opened only for our arrival, and we were met with doctors, then border patrol, sherrifs and police. After a gruelling night of travel and more lines, we became the first cruise passengers in the world to go into police forced lockdown. For many they complained about being locked up in a 4star hotel in the heart of Sydney. For us we couldn't have landed in a better position. This gave the McVay family time to regroup, enjoy Keigh's 14th birthday - with surprising special treat by the chef's, and also be looked after by the staff doing their best in a incredibly difficult situation.
During the 14nights they had to make their own fun, but also use that time wisely to find more permanent accomodation.
